The nursing team undertake a wide range of general duties including phlebotomy, ECGs, blood pressure monitoring, ear care, flu and pneumonia immunisations, spirometry and health promotion.
The registered nurses also undertake chronic disease management, wound management, Doppler studies and compression bandaging, childhood immunisations, contraceptive advice, travel health immunisation, cervical smears and injections.
The Health Care Assistants work closely with the registered nurses and are trained to a high standard in all the duties that they carry out. The whole team work in accordance with evidence based protocols and guidance.
As a training Practice, we welcome student nurses on placement from University of Worcester, they are either in their second or third year of training and with us for two or three month placements.

The Reception staff provide liaison between the patient and the rest of the primary care team to ensure that the needs of the patient are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner. They aim to treat everyone in a courteous, friendly way.
Their roles and responsibilities include answering patient enquiries by telephone and face to face, booking appointments, liaising with other members of the primary care team and administrative duties.
Our fully trained Receptionists, Secretaries and Administrative staff are here to help. They will often need to ask you further details when you telephone, this is to ensure they assist you as effectively as possible. They are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the Doctors and Nurses.

The medical secretaries deal with all outgoing and incoming correspondence on behalf of the primary care team. They liaise with the hospital on the patient’s behalf to organise urgent appointments. They also deal with private non-NHS correspondence that requires payment to the Practice. This includes items such as Solicitor’s requests for copies of patient’s notes, medical reports and forms from the Benefit Office.
When private work is completed the Practice will issue an invoice and will require payment before release of information requested. Upon payment a receipt will be issued and this must be kept by the payee for future reference.

Health Visitor
The Health Visitor can give advice on healthcare, particularly for expectant mothers and small children. They can be contacted by ringing 01905 681029 or 681025 between 8:30 and 9:30 am or 4:00 and 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. Messages will be taken outside of these times.
Midwives
Provide ante-natal clinics and visit patients in their homes both before and after delivery. There are ante-natal clinics run by the community midwives based within our practice premises.
